It is an honor to meet with you every once in awhile in this space as we explore the wondrous joy of worshiping our Savior. I met Denise while we both lived in Italy. Every once in awhile she would join me for praise & worship sessions for a women’s ministry (a time we both hold near and dear to our hearts!). Did you all know she plays the drums?! I don’t know about you, but I think women drummers are rad. Thank you, Denise, for inviting me to be a part of your new venture.
I am a wife to a husband who loves me with a fiery passion; he loves and leads as Jesus calls. I am a mother to two incredible, I cannot believe they are mine, kids. Emma is 13; she is a ballerina, lover of Jesus, and is trilingual. Ryan is 11 1/2; he is serious about Minecraft and reading, loves Jesus, and is also trilingual. Our family has been living in Europe since 2008 experiencing other cultures and opening our eyes to the world.
I cannot remember a moment in my life without music. I grew up in a home filled with all sorts of musical instruments and musical genres. From a very young age I was encouraged and supported to try and explore music. I started piano lessons when I was 7, I played various instruments at some points including accordion and saxophone, I played flute in school bands from 5th grade through high school, and sang in high school choirs. When I left for college my Dad gave me my first guitar and I’ve been playing ever since. It was there when I realized God would use me and these talents for His glory. I have had the incredible privilege of leading worship in different venues over the last 20 years.
While I realize worship is not only about music, it is truly my way of worshiping God. With an instrument in hand and the breath of song in my lungs, the Holy Spirit moves within me and the Joy of Jesus pours out.
