It's DIY Thursday, and I decided to put away the glue gun to talk with you about a total self conviction I've been struggling with. Taking care of me. Somewhere between the school drop offs, grocery shopping, house cleaning, life juggling , I started to let myself go. Haven't shaved in weeks, who cares, the chipped of five week old nail polish, guilty! That tired worn down Mommy who's looking for the best dark eye concealer, and hasn't been out of yoga pants in two week, caught a glimpse of her yesterday. Before you start with the "I'm tired, I don't have time, just life Denise, I'm living life. I'm here to say that's where you are wrong. You have got to take time for your self. I'm not saying you have to go out looking like a model every time you leave the house, and yes the laid back look is acceptable, even warranted at times, but it shouldn't be the norm. This may sound crazy to some of you, but I actually have a shave and nail polish change day. Why? Because for me I have to make it a point or it won't happen. We have to love ourselves and that all starts with self care. You can not pour into others if your cup is empty. So here is where the DIY part comes in. If you know me even a little you know that I'm a crunchy Momma and look for the most convenient and effective way.
Heres a little face mask that works wonders, and only requires two, yes two house old items.
1. Coconut oil. 2. Coffee grounds
Yep that's it y'all!
Mix the two equally, about two tablespoons each. Rub on a clean dry face and let sit anywhere from 15-30 minutes. It can be done up to 3 times a week.
It hydrates and exfoliates the skin. Natural healthy shiny glow. And yes it's safe for all skin types and sensitive skin. So go take some time even if it's only 10 minutes a day, but do something to renew that tired woman. Give your pigs a polish, or go find a new lip gloss. And ladies, start replacing those yoga pants every once in awhile.
